Rajasthan's Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, Diya Kumari, has presented the budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the Assembly. This budget focuses on the overall development of the state, with special emphasis on employment, infrastructure development, agriculture, energy, health, and education. 1. Employment Generation and Skill Development
The state government has announced 1.25 lakh new government positions for the youth, along with 1.5 lakh private job opportunities. This step is significant in addressing the issue of unemployment and bringing new energy to government services. In addition to new job opportunities, special skill development programs will be initiated to train the youth according to industry demands, enhancing their employability.

Infrastructure and Tourism Development
The state government has made several plans for infrastructure. There is a budget of over ₹5,000 crore for state highways, bypass roads, flyovers, and bridges. A budget of ₹60,000 crore is proposed for nine new Green Field Expressways. Additionally, ₹6,000 crore is allocated for the repair of 21,000 kilometers of rural roads. ₹575 crore is set aside for various road projects in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, and Ajmer. ₹12,000 crore is allocated for the expansion of Jaipur Metro. For low-income families, free solar plants and 150 units of electricity per month are provided. There is also a plan to provide piped water connections to 20 lakh homes in 2025-26.

Agriculture and Rural Development
The Rajasthan government has introduced several schemes for farmers in the 2025-26 budget. The Kisan Samman Nidhi amount has been increased from ₹8,000 to ₹9,000. Special provisions have been made for the development of irrigation facilities, with a budget of ₹1,250 crore allocated for drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, covering 3.5 lakh hectares of land. Additionally, 5,000 new electricity connections will be provided for agricultural use. To promote natural farming, subsidies will be given to 2,50,000 farmers. The Rajasthan Water Grid Corporation will oversee projects worth ₹4,000 crore to modernize agricultural infrastructure. These initiatives aim to support farmers and boost the agricultural sector in Rajasthan.

Energy and Environmental Conservation
The Rajasthan government has taken several significant steps for energy and environmental conservation in the 2025-26 budget. This includes provisions for solar energy projects to provide 150 units of free electricity per month. Additionally, 50,000 new agricultural and five lakh household electricity connections will be given. The state plans to increase electricity production by 6,400 megawatts and expand renewable energy by 10 gigawatts. 180 new grid substations will be established. For water conservation, structures will be built in 4,700 villages, and 10 crore trees will be planted.

To strengthen health services, new hospitals and health centers will be established in the state, increasing access to medical facilities in both rural and urban areas. To improve the quality of education, existing schools and colleges will be modernized, and new institutions will be set up to provide students with better education and resources.

Women's Empowerment
To empower women at home, a 0.5% stamp duty discount is provided for joint property in the name of husband and wife. To enhance women's safety, the introduction of the Civil Safety Act and the creation of 3,500 new positions for smart policing have been announced. The number of "Lakhpati Didis" has been increased to 20 lakh. Additionally, ₹1,000 crore has been announced for the development of eight new districts. Children in Anganwadi centers will now receive milk five days a week instead of three.

Other Important Announcements
The Rajasthan government has granted exemptions on basic customs duty for waste materials from lithium-ion batteries and minerals like zinc, benefiting the MSME sector and increasing employment opportunities. Additionally, the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) has been extended until 2028 to ensure the supply of clean drinking water to underserved villages. The Finance Minister has announced projects worth ₹9,300 crore for the Ramsetu Link Scheme, covering 13 districts.
